🏆 Full Moon Trail Series – Scoring & Results
📊 What is Series Scoring?
-
Series Scoring adds a fun, competitive twist to the Full Moon Trail Series by awarding points based on Age-Graded Results. These points help determine leaderboard standings and season-end awards.

🎯 How Does Scoring Work?
-
🏅 Points are awarded at each race based on Age-Graded Results.
 -
🏆 The top 12 men and top 12 women with the highest cumulative points are recognized at the Awards Ceremony.
 -
📋 Who is included?
-
All participants are scored, whether registered for the full series or as an individual race entrant.
 -
However, only Series Runners (all four races) are eligible for end-of-season awards.

 -
 -
🎁 Bonus for Series Participants:
-
Runners registered for the Full Moon Trail Series receive an automatic 500-point bonus, boosting their leaderboard standing.

 -

📌 Why Are Runners Being “Scored”?
-
Scoring encourages friendly competition and helps runners track their progress in a fun and engaging way!

⚖️ What is Age Grading?
Age Grading levels the playing field by adjusting performances based on age and gender, similar to a handicap in golf or bowling.
🔹 How it works:
-
Your finish time is compared to the world record for your age and gender.
 -
Scores are expressed as percentages:
-
100% = World Record
 -
90% = World-Class Performance
 -
80% = National Class
 -
70% = Regional Class
 -
60% = Local Class

 -
 -
Example: A 70-year-old can compete on the same scale as a 10-year-old!

🚨 Important Note:
-
Trail races are traditionally slower than road races, so Age-Grading percentages for trail events are not a direct reflection of a runner’s road racing ability.
